Why doesnt LVA have an anime club

or anything remotely similar to one. I’ve been wondering this since entering high school and have met so. many. otakus.

also, theres a glubbin POKEMON club, so why not anime in general??

There used to be one, but it flopped because it was horrible.

Actually, it used to be Asian Pacific club, and every month it would focus on a different asian country with Japan at the very end, and they’d have a big anime & DDR party in Lee-Sensei’s class though of course if you’re a current Freshman you have no idea who that is. Unfortunately, everyone just assumed that this WAS Anime club, and so after the class of ‘07 Graduated, the by-laws got a little forgotten and it became more of just an anime-centric club. Then when Lee-Sensei left at the end of the ‘07-08 year, APC disbanded, and Anime Club replaced it.

Anime Club was around basically until I graduated in 2010, but it was entirely run by underclassman, and had hardly any staff supervision because Q-Sensei was crazy busy and didn’t have time to run it, what with her lack of prep-period and insane class load, and the stress of being the only Japanese teacher on staff I realize that you probably have no idea who Q-Sensei is either. It could have been good, but no one wanted to put in the effort, so it was shit.

And that, my dear kouhai, is why LVA no longer has an Anime Club.

Is that so? Well that makes a lot of sense. I was beginning to wonder if there was some kind of hidden anime society lurking around the school. .-.

“you must prove yourself worthy of becoming a true otaku” hahaha.

Anyway, thank you for the explanation! Sucks that no one put the effort to make the club cool and amazing like I’ve always imagined one might be. I always see groups of anime fanatics around lunch and was just wondering - why not have a club? - and since no one at school was any help I turned to tumblr.
